Because of this success, Richard Mille decided to open a new route in 2019, fixing its color on the mast, as the title sponsor of the re-baptized Les Voiles de St Barth Richard Mille. The RM 60-01 Regatta is specially designed for sailing regattas and competitions, with all the useful and basic functions that a captain may need. It is particularly worth mentioning that it has a unique 3D rotating bezel that can display the cardinal point, allowing sailors to find the direction without a compass.
Its main assets can be located in the northern and southern hemispheres without any calculations. The UTC pointer points to the sun. Then rotate the bezel—this is the first carbon TPT—just need to be set so that the UTC hand indicates the local hour displayed on the bezel. Therefore, the compass faces north, south, east, and west, and is aligned with the actual direction of the earth's surface. This adaptability anywhere on the high seas distinguishes the RM 60-01 from other "regatta" watches. The hand at 9 o'clock is replaced by a hollow 60-minute marker disc. The pilot can read the elapsed minutes and the remaining minutes.
